C&D Construction Solutions Inc. is a family-owned business that has proudly served Northeast Iowa’s building and construction needs for over 45 years. Founded in March 1977 by Dale Demmer and his cousin Merlin Clemen, C&D began in a garage in New Vienna, quickly evolving from small repair projects into a full-fledged construction company. The firm moved to a larger facility on the Demmer family farm to accommodate their growing inventory of equipment and offerings, which initially included roofing, siding, and repair services.
In the 1980s, C&D was a pioneer in introducing steel roofing and siding to the region, utilizing innovative equipment like their custom-built hydraulic scaffolding lift, which revolutionized how roofing jobs were executed. The company faced challenges during economic downturns, particularly the Farm Crisis of the 1980s, but managed to persevere by focusing on necessary farm repairs and expanding their service offerings.
The 1990s marked a significant transition as they began providing complete start-to-finish construction services, including concrete work. As family members became more involved in the business, C&D transitioned leadership from Dale to his sons, who continue to foster the same dedication to quality and craftsmanship that Dale and Patricia instilled in the company.
Under the leadership of Dale’s sons, C&D has continually adapted and expanded, offering insulation services and partnering with manufacturers like Rigid® steel buildings to enhance their product range. Celebrating their 40th anniversary in 2017, they broke ground on a new, larger facility that would support their continued growth and service delivery.
Despite the loss of Dale and Patricia, C&D Construction Solutions remains committed to family values and exceptional service. Over the years, they have maintained their reputation for high-quality construction and innovation, believing in delivering custom solutions tailored to client needs without the use of deceptive stock photography.
