Goodman Electric, originally founded in 1955 by brothers James and Thomas Goodman, has established itself as a premier electrical contractor in Northern Arizona. Beginning as a small operation in Flagstaff, the company expanded its services by incorporating electrical work alongside their existing construction projects. Gene Goodman, who had valuable experience from his Navy service during World War II, spearheaded the electrical division, leading to numerous iconic projects throughout the region, including dormitories at Northern Arizona University, renovations at Flagstaff Medical Center, and other significant constructions.
In 1980, Gene’s son Tom took the initiative to create his own business, which transformed over the years into Goodman Electric, becoming synonymous with quality and reliability. Under Tom's direction, the company grew from a modest team to over 25 skilled electricians and support staff, while Tom actively contributed to the industry, including being a founding member of the Northern Arizona Electrical Contractor's Association in 2008.
Derek Goodman, Tom's son, took the helm of the business in 2016, ensuring the legacy of quality service continued. He remains an active member in the local electrical community and is dedicated to maintaining the company’s commitment to excellence. Today, Goodman Electric offers a wide range of services, including residential, commercial, and industrial electrical solutions, with a strong focus on competitive pricing, workmanship quality, and customer satisfaction. Goodman Electric looks forward to maintaining its reputation and legacy for many more decades, striving to provide every client with integrity and dependability in every project undertaken.
