J.P. Mascaro & Sons, founded in 1964 by Joseph P. Mascaro, Sr., began as a small operation with a single truck and a contract with General Electric Aerospace Center in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Since its inception, the company has grown into one of the premier solid waste and recycling service providers in the country. Today, it operates 17 divisions, employs over 850 individuals, and owns a fleet of 400 trucks, as well as several DEP-permitted landfills and transfer stations throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
The guiding principle of J.P. Mascaro & Sons has been encapsulated in its motto: “If it’s service, it’s us!” This customer-centric philosophy remains unchanged and underlines the company’s commitment to delivering exceptional service across residential, municipal, commercial, and industrial sectors. Over the decades, the company has built a reputation for quality service while fostering a family-oriented corporate culture, which continues to prioritize the welfare and development of its employees. Many staff members have decades of experience, signifying a strong bond and commitment to the company's success.
In addition to providing industry-leading waste management services, J.P. Mascaro & Sons is dedicated to community involvement. This includes a robust commitment to education through initiatives such as its Respect Program, which reaches over 50,000 elementary school children annually, reinforcing valuable lessons about respect and environmental stewardship. The company has pledged $10 million over five years to support educational programs, demonstrating its belief in corporate responsibility and community engagement.
Today, the company is steered by the third generation of Mascaros, who are committed to upholding the core values laid down by their founder. As J.P. Mascaro & Sons heads into the future, it continues to evolve while remaining a family-run business that recognizes and values its tradition of service, community, and sustainability.
