Mónica Ponce de León, the founding principal and a respected academic leader, is currently the dean at Princeton University's School of Architecture. Her illustrious career is marked by numerous accolades, including the prestigious National Design Award in Architecture from the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian National Design Museum. Ponce de León’s work has received significant recognition, earning her several Progressive Architecture (P/A) Awards, multiple honors from the American Institute of Architects (AIA), and the respected Harleston Parker Medal from the Boston Society of Architects, among others.
As a certified Women's Business Enterprise (WBE) and Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), MPdL Studio is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion within the architecture and design fields. Ponce de León also holds a Master of Architecture in Urban Design from Harvard and a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Miami. In addition to her architectural practice, she has an impressive background in teaching, having served in various prestigious academic positions, including a significant role at Harvard University and numerous visiting professorships across the United States.
