Paine’s Inc. is a family-owned recycling and rubbish removal company that has been serving the Greater Hartford and Northwestern Connecticut areas since 1929. Founded by Albert I. Paine and his wife Mary in the small community of Simsbury, Connecticut, the company initially began as a way to feed food scraps to their family farm during the Great Depression. This commitment to community and resourcefulness laid the foundation for the values that still guide the company today.
In the early 1950s, after his son Donald I. Paine returned from military service, the family transitioned the business focus from farming to servicing residential waste collection. Over the decades, Paine's has continually adapted to the changing needs of the community, expanding its services to include commercial rubbish removal and recycling, as well as introducing automated trash collection in the 1980s, making them the first company in New England to do so. Today, Paine’s serves over 45,000 customers each week, showcasing their growth from a small local operation to a significant player in waste management.
The current leadership of Paine's consists of third and fourth generation family members, who are committed to maintaining the values set by their founders: providing exceptional service, treating customers and employees with respect, and pursuing sustainability. The company prides itself on using innovative technologies and practices for environmental conservation and giving back to the community.
