Sun State Nursery & Landscaping, Inc. has been a cornerstone of the landscaping industry in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia since its inception in 1976. Starting as a retail and wholesale nursery in Jacksonville, the company quickly expanded its offerings by adding landscape services and sod distribution in 1977. This growth necessitated a move to a new location on Phillips Highway in 1986, where Sun State Nursery established itself as a leader in commercial landscape construction.
Over the years, Sun State has completed numerous high-profile projects, helping to beautify key landmarks throughout the Jacksonville area. These include significant sites such as Metropolitan Park, the Nocatee Water Park, and the Prime Osborn Convention Center, among many others. In 1995, to further enhance its services, a landscape management division was introduced, ensuring that completed projects receive ongoing maintenance and care.
Under the leadership of President Paul Jean-Marie Kassab, who has been with the company since its founding, Sun State Nursery has continued to innovate. Kassab, a certified landscape contractor and registered landscape architect, emphasized the concept of "Good Measure," which prioritizes the delivery of top-quality specifications for all projects, aiming to exceed client expectations consistently. The introduction of hardscape services in recent years—including the construction of arbors, fountains, and various hardscape features—reflects the company’s commitment to providing comprehensive landscaping solutions.
For over three decades, Sun State Nursery & Landscaping, Inc. has focused on delivering successful projects on time while reinforcing the bond with clients through its landscape management division. The belief that a well-maintained installation appreciates in beauty and value over time underscores the company's dedication to fostering lasting client relationships. With a reputation for quality and service, Sun State Nursery continues to be the preferred choice for landscaping needs in the region.
